Chillicothe’s water supply comes from six alluvial wells, which replaced the Grand River as a water source in the early 1970’s. The water treatment plant has the capability of providing 4.5 million gallons per day. CMU serves almost 4,000 water customers and 3 rural water districts and has more than 90 miles of water lines. CMU has three water towers with a storage capacity of up to 2 million gallons.
