Chillicothe Municipal Utilities is accepting applications for the position of “Customer Service Representative” at the CMU Office location. Under the general direction of the Operations Manager and Lead Customer Service Representative, this employee is the primary point of contact for utility customers. This role is responsible for assisting with new service applications, service transfers, account payments, and maintaining accurate customer records within the billing system. The CSR also provides administrative and accounting support as needed.

High school diploma or GED required; additional education or experience in accounting, business, or a related field preferred. Prior customer service experience preferred; strong communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, cash-handling procedures, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency with computer systems, including utility billing and metering software. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
