Chillicothe Municipal Utilities is accepting applications for the position of “Lead Customer Service Representative” at the CMU Office location. Under the general direction of the Operations Manager, this employee’s primary responsibility is to oversee daily customer service operations and provide guidance to Customer Service Representatives. Duties include generating utility bills, reconciling accounts, maintaining service rates, establishing new utility accounts, assisting customers, keeping customer records up to date, and assisting in the accounting department when needed.
High school diploma or GED required; additional education or experience in accounting, business, or a related field preferred. Prior customer service experience required; supervisory or lead experience preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic accounting principles, cash-handling procedures, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency with computer systems, including utility billing and metering software. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
