CMU has been supplying reliable electric service to the residents of Chillicothe since 1911. Presently, CMU serves approximately 4,700 electric customers with six live (nine total) substations and 115 miles of distribution lines. CMU also has a generation facility with 1 gas turbine and 5 diesel generators that can supply the entire town in an emergency.
Electric Rates
CMU electric service rates depend on the type of service provided. Each rate schedule has a flat base rate as well as a variable cost based on kWh consumed.
